Transformação digital no setor financeirofatores críticos de sucesso na adoção de blockchain e finanças descentralizadas por bancos incumbentes

Resumo

This study investigates the critical success factors (CSFs) that influence the adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) by incumbent banks, within the broader context of digital transformation in the financial sector. Grounded in the theoretical lenses of dynamic capabilities, organizational ambidexterity, and institutional innovation, the research employs a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews with executives from financial institutions, regulators, and crypto ecosystem specialists. The analysis of empirical evidence reveals that the adoption of technologies such as tokenization, stablecoins, and institutional blockchain is shaped by internal barriers, including rigid governance structures, fragmented control areas, lack of executive sponsorship, limited technical knowledge, and cultural resistance to experimentation. Based on these findings, the study proposes a framework that connects organizational capabilities with institutional elements, offering practical guidance for institutions seeking to advance their digital transformation through the adoption of native digital assets.
