Resumo
This article presents a theoretical-conceptual review of the paradigm construct and its centrality in the relationship between thinking and doing in urbanism and territorial planning. Through a semantic, logical, and ideological analysis, the text traces the historical development of the term, highlighting the conceptions of Thomas Kuhn and Edgar Morin as foundational axes of the discussion. By considering the paradigm as both an interpretative and operative lens, the authors of this article propose its applicability to the critical reading of urban plans, projects, and theories in the fields of urbanism, territorial planning, and landscape design, contexts in which the concept of paradigm is essential for understanding and evaluating the historical transformations of professional practice and knowledge.
