Resumo

For many years, "to rationalize" production has meant to adopt Taylorist and Fordist principles. Today, however, these principles are relegated to a secondary role, due to the computerized integration and, above all, to the great transformation operated in the way of thinking and of acting in modern societies. Rigorously speaking, the specialists in production organization started identifying the crisis with bureaucratization as from the '70s, although this does not imply our having from now on less rationality in the world of production: on the contrary, we'll have other forms of rationality. Decisions, now, are of a greater complexity than was foreseen in the old handbooks and that is why it is not possible, anymore, to do without an analysis of the technical culture guiding the decision-making process involving technical decisions inside the organizations.
