The administrator formation for the health sectorsome thoughts on the current Brazilian state and the responsibility of the university

Resumo

Starting from the evidences that there has been a shift in health actives, which suppresses the dichotomy preventive versus curative and aims at an integran and universal approach to health care, the author proposes, in face of the needs created by this new scenario, the training of a new professional to manage the health care system. A new public health professional able to respond to a new scenario and to a broader view of Public Health. He, then, proposes the necessary skills and the curriculum design. He also discusses the main transformations in universities which will be needed to meet the proposed endeavour.
