Sobre a noção schumpeteriana de progresso na ciência econômica

Resumo

The objective of this paper is to show that the schumpeterian notion of progress of theeconomic science is instrumentalist. Shionoya (1990) establishes the basic connectionsbetween Mach's instrumentalism and the schumpeterian epistemologicalinstrumentalism. However, the author suggests that should be studied the relationshipbetween the instrumentalism and the progress of the science in Schumpeter. Hesuggests that new light must be looked for regarding the theme in the Austrianeconomist's posterior works in history of the economic science. This article will try toadvance the border of the knowledge (in History of the Economic Thought andMethodology) in this sense, that is, seeking explanations on the nature of the progress ofeconomics for Schumpeter. In first place, I will approach the schumpeterian distinctionbetween vision and analysis and the negative role of the ideology inside of the scienceand of its progress. Later on, I will analyze the first part of History of the EconomicAnalysis. Basically I am going to indicate the strong influence of Mach on Schumpeter'snotion of progress of economics.
