Patrimônio histórico e acessibilidadeum estudo de caso no entorno da Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro na cidade do Rio de Janeiro

Resumo

This work studies the relationship between the themes listed historic heritage and accessibility. For this, it uses the case study of the Church of Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as it understands that it is a historically representative asset in the cultural and architectural aspect, in addition to being a meeting place for diverse social groups. The objective of this research is to propose strategies to improve the use in relation to the accessibility of listed properties, especially religious institutions, respecting the historical and cultural values that were attributed to them. The results are presented through a Policy Paper, being the product of this research. It is important to highlight that this study was directly impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, which started in Brazil in March 2020 and is ongoing in 2021, limiting some aspects related to the research, such as direct interviews and personal contacts. Therefore, the research was adapted, respecting the sanitary rules so as not to impact the result of the research. The work consists of a technical-theoretical report where the research paths are presented, such as: objectives, methodology, bibliographical review, and theoretical reflections that revolve around the theme. Together, the Policy Paper is presented, containing the presentation of the case study, the analysis and results obtained in the research, conclusion, and suggestions for improvement. The methodology used was the Case Study and the methodological tools were simple observation research, interview and sending a questionnaire online. Bibliographical research was carried out and the historical documentation related to the Church of Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro was analyzed, in addition to establishing a comparison with other similar heritages through specialized literature. The results point to the need for interventions on accessibility in religious buildings and for better political strategies related to the theme of accessibility and heritage. The research contributes to the study of access for people with disabilities and reduced mobility to cultural goods of historical value. In addition, it reinforces the debate on accessibility as a possible factor of social exclusion and reflects on interventions in the listed heritage. It is expected that this research will contribute to the improvement of public administrations regarding the implementation of accessibility actions in preserved spaces, helping the bodies responsible for the theme in the country and researchers related to the theme.
