Os significados do triânguloum estudo das elites políticas do Distrito Federal na região de Santa Cruz, Guaratiba e Campo Grande (1892-1910)

Resumo

The purpose of this research is to analyze the so-called Grupo do Triângulo, we understand that the respective Group constitutes an important power pole in the suburbs of the Distrito Federal (Federal district), thus influencing Rio politics during the first years of the Republic, particularly in 1900. The Group was initially made up of three politicians: Augusto de Vasconcelos, Raul Barroso and Philippe Cardoso, the constitution changed over the years, we registered and analyzed the changes. In the legislative power, both Municipal and Federal, the Group occupied all possible positions, our analysis focused on the passage of politicians in the Municipal Council, between 1892 - 1894, and in the Chamber of Deputies, we researched the Governments of Prudente de Morais and Campos Sales. In the legislature, the group sought to meet, as a matter of priority, the local demands of its voters, in the Chamber of Deputies the politicians fought for the autonomy of the Municipality of the Federal District. The other point in our analysis was to try to identify and build a profile of the average supporter of these politicians, in addition to identifying strategies for gaining and maintaining support from the electorate. Voters were made up of civil servants, merchants (traders) and farmers. Among the strategies, we highlight local associations, appointment of allies for public office and meeting demands through projects. The press was another field of activity that we analyzed, we analyzed both the newspapers allied to the Group and the opposition newspapers.
