Resumo

This article presents the political and diplomatic history of Oscar Camilión, one of the most prominent figures of the Argentinean foreign policy in the last century. The reading starts at Frondizi’s government, when Camilión took charge of an important position at the Ministry of Foreign Relations and Cult, and end up with the scandal of sale of illegal weapons to Croatia and Ecuador, when Camilión was heading the Ministry of Defense of Menem’s government. The core argument presented is that in four decisive moments on the Argentinean foreign policy, Camilión has taken a pivotal role on industrial development. Yet the text emphasizes Argentinian bilateral relations with Brazil and stresses the narrow influence that Camilión has exerted on it.
