Resumo

This article brings to discussion which are the challenges of the socioeducational care policy around the federal entities, proposed by the Law 12.594/2012 - Sistema Nacional de Atendimento Socioeducativo (Socioeducational Care National System) – SINASE. With this objective, a comparative analysis of the normative from Minas Gerais and Rio Grande do Sul through view over the regulation of the professional practice of socioeducational security agent, based on institutional instruments: state policies and the regiment of the function of socioeducative security. The prevalence of security aspects over socioeducation was identified, which makes the effective implementation of a new paradigm a challenge.Institutional changes aswell as improvement proposals on state policies are pointed out
