Notas introdutorias ao estudo da ergonomia

Resumo

In the present paper some introductory remarks related to the study of ergonomics are advanced, so as to present the latter as a product ensued from the ever increasing knowledge about the working forces together with their control in human societies. Chapter 1 is abut a historical overview on the multifarious organization of human society according to both definite and dominating working relations. A detailed analysis of the organization of work in the years fol1owing capitalism birth is presented, Taylor, Ford, Fayol and the behavioral school being primarily focused. In chapter twO a survey on the role played by applied psychology as related to the development of theories comprising both the organization of work and the control itself over work is presented. In chapter three some findings related to the birth and growth of ergonomics over the world are summarized, its methods and applications being particularly il1ustrated. In the last chapter some possible ways for ergonomics to be successfully transferred to Brazil are forwarded.
