For a new organizational decision theory

Resumo

This paper examines the nature of the decision making process, its epistemology, and its method of study, searching for a new general perspective for the study of organizational phenomena. Continuing previous works, the article defines organizational decision's attributes from a process perspective, instead of using a "product" view, as is usual with functionalism. It suggests that the organization theory should be opener to the humanities and to the examination of the existing parallelisms both with microphysical principies and with religious traditions' principies, in order to transcend the instrumentalism and the utilitarianism prevailing in social issues.
