Resumo

This essay aims at, initially, offering an initial succinct comprehension of contemporary Brazil based upon the most significant exponents from its musical interpreter's scene. Furthermore, aims at offering a critical update of the Country's cultural landscape through the perspective of the Tropicalia Movement. Such a cultural movement that has forged back into the arena Brazil's cultural residual traumas and that has also invented a pattern for their comprehension based upon new aesthetical and political keys. In particular, one could point out as an example its musical making. Finally, this essay analyses the 2012's Tom Ze Tropicalia lixo logico work, which follows his well-known experimental and thesis-like musical route. In this record, the artist brings back, into a critical perspective, central aspects of current Brazilian culture in conjunction with cultural themes which had already been dissected by the Tropicalia Movement since 1967. Thus, as the majority of essays, this transits though the record's vestiges and proper analysis as a mean to offer a contextualisation and a problem-solving perspective to the question of Brazil's nationwide build-up identity.
