Resumo
This is simply an additional contribution for the study of the bill on "Monetary Law" submitted to the BRAZILIAN PARLIAMENT by Representative A. SAMPAIO, published in our last (june 1949) issue, togethe1' with a Committee's report on it and a study by the well k'Mwn economist OTÁVIO BULHÕES. The present article is a chapter written by its author, previov"s to presentation of the bill, for the second volume of his "PrincipIes of Monetary Economics", still in preparation. Jt simply reproduces the well known arguments against the possibility and advisebility of adopting the stabilisation of the price level as the objective of monetary policy.
