Resumo
The objective of this work is to present the main challenges, as well as a set of proposals, for the establishment of a more competitive natural gas market in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Towards these ends, the most important topics relevant to the study of the market are described, characterized and analyzed: the industry structure, economic aspects, sector regulation and lessons learned from international experiences. Afterwards, alternatives are offered that can serve as potential pathways for the development of a wider and more competitive market.
