Resumo
The Brazilian trade pattern is marked, on one hand, by exports with strong presence of commodities, labour and natural resources intensive goods. On the other hand, Brazilian importation is intensive in products of high and medium technological intensity. Taking on account the great share of transnational companies in the productive structure of the country, the objective of this article is to evaluate the eventual contribution of these companies for the diversification of the Brazilian exports in products of higher technological intensity. The results show, among others things, a greater specialization of the foreign companies in Brazil in products of medium technological intensity.
