Resumo
The present dissertation seeks to understand how the images taken by photographer Marcel Gautherot about Brasília were represented on the pages of brasília magazine, a periodical that followed the guidelines of the then government of Juscelino Kubitschek. The purpose of the publications was to show a new futuristic capital, which synthesized the progressive yearnings of the moment. However, the magazine ended up excluding the lower strata, which in general were composed of migrants in search of new opportunities with city building. With this, we seek to identify Gautherot's view of these populations and their spaces, in order to rescue erased memories in one of the most important moments in the history of Brazil.
