Resumo
Brazil is one of the main global players in Agribusiness, with an emphasis on the production and export of various agricultural products. In the cultivation of soybeans and corn, the relevance is even greater. In the 2018/19 harvest, Brazil positioned itself as the second largest producer of soybeans, the third largest producer of corn, and was a leader in soybean exports and the second largest corn exporter in the world. Faced with this scenario of protagonism in world agriculture, combined with the prospects for growth in production and demand in the world, there are many opportunities for Brazilian agriculture and, at the same time, numerous challenges to be overcome, including the lack of infrastructure and logistics. One of the bottlenecks in the current scenario is the storage deficit in our grain production, which generates losses for the country and reduces the gain of rural producers. Within this context, the objective of this work is to analyze the economic viability of an investment in storage of grains, soybeans and corn, on a farm located in Rio Grande do Sul, dedicated to the cultivation of 201 hectares of crops of these grains. The economic and financial evaluation was carried out using the discounted cash flow method over a 10-year horizon, considering assumptions of production, prices and reduction of potential expenses through the investment. The result obtained presented economic viability for the proposed investment. The project's incremental cash flow, using a minimum attractiveness rate (TMA) of 5,40%, generated a NPV (net present value) of R$ 16.936,48, TIR (internal rate of return) of 6,07%, MTIR (internal rate of return) modified of 5,79% and payback (payback period) of 8,8 years.
