Amnhĩjagri (resguardo) Apinajésaberes, corpo, saúde e memória

Resumo

This academic research examines the practices of prenatal and postpartum care/confinement (resguardo) among the Apinajé people, with a particular focus on the experiences of pregnant women and those in the postpartum period. The main objective is to analyze current knowledge on the subject and compare it with information recorded by anthropologist Roberto DaMatta during the 1960s and 1970s, based on his collaboration with Katàm Kààk Grossinho, a highly respected expert on Apinajé culture. These audio recordings are part of the personal archive of the anthropologist housed at the FGV CPDOC. Following the analysis of these recordings, I conducted interviews with Apinajé elders to explore the subject from contemporary perspectives further. In addition to the written dissertation, a series of videos featuring these interviews was also produced. These audiovisual materials constitute the final outputs of the research. They are intended to be shared with younger members of the community, to promote and revitalize traditional knowledge related to resguardo, thereby contributing to the strengthening of both the physical well-being and cultural identity of the Panhĩ/Apinajé people.
