A necessidade de uma política alimentar diferenciada no Brasil

Resumo

In this paper we present a review of the performance of agricultural production in Brazil during 1977/84 and discuss five factors which, in the present moment, are important ones for the allocation of resources in the agricultural sector, particularly when attention is given to its segmented nature, that is, domestic and exported crops. Based on the evidences from the two initial sections, the final one gives greater detail to the issue of introducing a diferentiated food policy, which would mean defining the overall policy taking into account the existence of such subsectors, domestic and traded, with special instruments favoring the first one.
