A Infraestrutura da qualidade na nova indústria Brasiluma estratégia a ser construída

Resumo

The most recent Brazilian industrial policy, named New Industry Brazil (NIB), was published in June 2023. The NIB is organized into missions that associate economic objectives with social and environmental goals, and to ensure its success, at least fourteen financial and non-financial instruments have been provided. To ensure its success, at least fourteen financial and non financial instruments have been planned. Among these instruments, the Quality Infrastructure stands out. This system comprises activities such as standardization, conformity assessment, technical regulation, accreditation of conformity assessment bodies, metrology and market surveillance, which, integrated into the National Quality Infrastructure Strategy (ENIQ) – still to be proposed by the government by the end of 2024 – will support NIB’s actions. This article analyzes the history of Quality Infrastructure in the country and its treatment in industrial policy initiatives since the 1990s. It also examines how the services of this system were outlined in the Action Plan for Neo Industrialization 2024-2026, which presents the main actions of the NIB for the period considered. It concludes that there are still no concrete actions or directions, only mentions of potential contributions.
