A Experiência Latino-Americana na OCDEreferências para o Brasil

Resumo

This article intends to seek, in the experience of Latin American countries members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the identification of concrete benefits and experienced obstacles derived from their relationship with the organization. To this end, a brief overview of the ascension process from Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica to the OECD is made. In addition, a brief analysis is made of some important indicators present in the positive and negative narratives regarding the entry of developing countries in the OECD, taking into account Mexico, Chile and Brazil. The text concludes that, in the case of Brazil, the decision to join the OECD must be part of a broader debate in society – a debate which will result in structural decisions in the economic field and in foreign relations.
